Sustainable and responsible tourism
At BSD Residences, all members of our team have at heart nature and ecology. The choice to build tiny-chalets of the “Tiny-house” type brings several benefits for the environment (instead of a single-storey construction).
With a footprint of just 496 square feet, an immediate benefit to the environment is the building's limited space on the lot. In addition, construction requires much less materials than a standard building, which ultimately means less production of materials and less transport related to these materials.
Knowing that materials have a finite lifespan, when the time comes to renovate parts of the building, renovations will require fewer materials, which is more beneficial to the environment in the long run.
A great additional advantage of these micro-chalets is the reduced consumption of electricity. Since the internal surface is small, it means less need for heating, cooling, lights, etc. In addition, our micro-houses have a high insulation factor in order to save more on electricity.
Other advantages of the micro-chalet are attributed to the fact that the reduced space makes us spend more time outdoors. At the same time, we are automatically closer to nature physically instead of being isolated in a large building.
